(the) Communist Party of the United States of America
the Communist Party of the United States of America [the Communist Party of the United States of America] (abbr the CPUSA)
a small US political party which believes in the principles of Communism. It was established in 1921 and was called the Workers’ Party of America before it changed to the present name in 1929. ↑Congress took away many of its rights in 1954, but the party began open activities again in 1966. Its newspaper is called People’s Weekly World.
